WE'RE GETTING MARRIED
Welcome to The Burleigh Wedding Vacay!
We feel so lucky to have our favourite people from near and far joining us to celebrate this next chapter of our lives. It’s always been our dream to go on one big holiday with all our favourite people, and our wedding felt like the perfect reason to make it happen.
The Burleigh Wedding Vacay will take place from Tuesday 10th November to Friday 13th November 2026. We’ll arrive on Tuesday afternoon, tie the knot on Wednesday, enjoy a Recovery Day on Thursday, and say our goodbyes on Friday morning.
All celebrations will be held at The Cove, nestled within Booderee National Park in Jervis Bay. Once you arrive, everything is in one place, making it easy to move between celebrations and spend time together. We’ve got a yoga session planned, with opportunities for paddleboarding and kayaking, relaxed lawn games, and even the chance to spot a kangaroo or two.
We’ll all be staying onsite in a mix of cosy cabins, spacious rooms, and glamping tents.
You can find more information about accommodation here.
Your presence truly means the world to us, and knowing you’re choosing to spend these days with us makes this whole experience incredibly special.
We’ve included everything you’ll need to know about the Burleigh Wedding Vacay in our FAQs section.
Please take a moment to read through them before the big day.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you and create memories we’ll treasure forever.

Let's Celebrate
OUR VENUE
We’ll be celebrating at The Cove, located at Ellmoos Road, Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay NSW 2540.
Set within the national park, The Cove is a completely secluded coastal venue, surrounded by bushland and right by the beach. All of our wedding celebrations will take place here.
The Cove is also where we’ll all be staying together during the Burleigh Wedding Vacay, making it easy to enjoy the experience without needing to travel elsewhere.
Located approximately 13 km from the nearest town, The Cove is tucked deep within the national park, which is part of what makes it such a special and private setting. Due to the remote location and limited nearby amenities, staying onsite is the easiest and most comfortable option for guests.

Stay with us
ACCOMMODATION
We’ve reserved the entire venue for the three nights so we can spend the whole time together. Accommodation is spread across a mix of cosy cabins, spacious rooms, and glamping tents, all within easy walking distance of the beach and event spaces. There’s no need to drive anywhere once you arrive, just settle in and enjoy the days with us.
We will be allocating accommodation for all guests based on group sizes and availability.
To keep things simple, The Cove has set a fixed price of:
$150 per adult, per night
Three-night stay | $450 per adult
To give everyone the chance to truly relax and let their hair down, the Burleigh Wedding Vacay will be an adults-only affair.
At the bottom of the website, you’ll find our RSVP section. This is where you’ll confirm your details and make your accommodation payment via bank transfer to the account details provided. Once payment has been made, please send through proof of payment via email. Your accommodation will then be confirmed, and we’ll take care of the rest. No separate bookings are needed.
When you arrive, you’ll be shown to your accommodation and can settle straight in.
Please note that accommodation is reserved for those named on your emailed invitation, and we kindly ask that only invited guests attend.
Please make sure to read through our FAQs section, where we’ve answered common questions about accommodation and how the Burleigh Wedding Vacay will run.

THE CABINS
Some cabins sleep four and others sleep six, and we’ll keep that in mind when allocating rooms so families and groups are placed together comfortably.
Each cabin has its own bathroom, kitchen, lounge area, and a private BBQ on the balcony.
Linen and bath towels are provided.

Travel Tips
HOW DO WE GET THERE?
We want to make your journey to our wedding as smooth as possible. Below are some helpful details on how to get to The Cove. Please note there is limited parking onsite, so we recommend car-pooling where possible. Due to the remote location, Uber and taxis are not available at the venue.
BY CAR
The Cove is approximately 125km from Wollongong (around a 1.5-hour drive) and 840km from Melbourne (around a 9-hour drive).
At the entrance of Booderee National Park, you’ll be required to pay an entry fee. You can either pay on arrival or pre-book your park pass online here.
The final 13km is via a graded dirt road; it’s suitable for regular cars but can be bumpy in places, so please drive with care.
BY AIR
For our out-of-town guests, the easiest airport to fly into is Sydney Airport.
From there, you can hire a car at the airport and drive down to The Cove, which is approximately a 3-hour drive. Alternatively, you can catch a train or take an Uber or taxi to Wollongong, and from there we may be able to help arrange car pooling with another guest for the drive down.
If you’re flying in, please chat with us and share your flight details so we can help coordinate transport where possible.
BY COACH (TBC)
Depending on how many guests are flying in, we may organise a coach to take guests from Wollongong to the venue on 10th November, with a return trip back to Wollongong on 13th November.
If this is something you’d be interested in, please let us know. If we have enough numbers, we’ll arrange this option.
The Address for The Cove is:

Our Love Story
HOW WE MET AND OUR STORY
We met on a superyacht at the start of Covid and have been sailing through life together ever since. Our story began in Cairns and since then we have gone on so many adventures that have led us to the life we are building today.

We can't wait to share this next chapter with you all

Our biggest adventures are yet to come...
We first met at the very beginning of Covid in 2020. We had both just returned home from overseas and, by pure chance, ended up joining the same superyacht, Mischief, while it was in the shipyard in Cairns, Queensland. During a time when the world felt uncertain, we were grateful to have work. Even if being transport crew serving cocktails to wealthy guests did not quite feel like the definition of an essential worker.
Brad still remembers the first moment he saw Mikaela walk down the stairs into the crew mess. He says she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, though he did not make a move straight away. His idea of a subtle first step came about two weeks later, when he asked Mikaela to guess how many Hydralyte tablets you could safely have in one day (FYI the answer is forty!). Mikaela thought it was a fun fact, but did not read into it at all.
Not long after, before a night out with the crew, the girls were playing a game where they had to answer hypothetically who they would marry among the crew. Mikaela answered honestly and said she would choose Brad, because he had the kindest, sweetest soul. One of the girls passed that information on to Brad. His offered her half of his chicken parmi if she helped set him up with Mikaela that night. To this day, Brad claims it was the best investment he has ever made.
That night, with a little liquid courage, Brad finally kissed Mikaela. From that very first moment, everything just clicked and we have been by each other's side ever since.
We did not want to be apart, and it felt different from anything we had experienced before. We were not looking for each other, but somehow we were ready for each other.
People often say that a one-year relationship on a boat can feel like five. As you are working, living, and socialising together, you get to see every side of a person.
We spent the next few months working on Mischief before deciding to resign and freelance together on other yachts. One of the most special was Motor Yacht Spirit, where our relationship really began to bloom. We bounced from boat to boat and state to state, navigating Covid border restrictions and planning to eventually head back overseas. Somewhere along the way, Wollongong started to feel like home, and before we knew it, it was.
Over the last five years, we have been building a life filled with adventure, growth, and so many shared memories. We are so excited to embark on this next chapter as husband and wife, and can't wait to celebrate with you all!
